Conveyancing Secretary | Initium Recruitment for External Partner in Paarl
Our client, a prestigious law firm in Paarl, is seeking a conveyancing secretary to join their dynamic team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous, detail-orientated individual with strong organisational- and communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRABLE SKILLS
• Minimum Matric/Grade 12;
• Legal Secretary / paralegal / conveyancing qualification advantageous;
• Minimum 2-5 years conveyancing experience;
• In-depth knowledge of conveyancing software (LexisConvey, SearchWorks, GostPractice, RatesClearance.com)
• Sound computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Excel)
• Knowledge of Sectional titles;
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans;
• Good writing and verbal communication skills with good telephone etiquette;
• Detail-orientated with excellent organisational skills;
• Deadline driven and quality-focused;
• Ability to work accurately, efficiently and effectively;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to work overtime when required to do so;
• Confident with the ability to work under pressure and remain positive and focused at all times;
• Resourceful, self-motivated with a sense of urgency and strong work ethic; and
• Trustworthy and reliable with a high level of integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
• Manage the FICA administration process;
• Taking transfer instructions, including estate-, property development- and sectional title transfers;
• Ensures effective diary management and meeting co-ordination;
• Typing and formatting letters, correspondence, legal documents and commercial agreements (copy typing required);
• Incorporating amendments to legal documents and commercial agreements;
• Conducting property, person and company searches;
• Maintaining/updating client contact details;
• Preparing client files;
• Liaising with clients, correspondents and deeds office clerk/driver;
• Attend to lodgments and registrations of all conveyancing matters;
• Manage client relationships;
• Preparing quotations, raising invoices and debt management.
